🧀 Healthy Protein Balls (Kid-Friendly & Fitness Approved)

Soft, lightly sweet protein balls made with simple ingredients — perfect for toddlers, kids, and active adults.

🥣 Ingredients

9 oz low-fat farmer’s cheese / quark (250 g)

3 tbsp all-purpose flour (Type 550) (3 tbsp ≈ 24 g)

1 tbsp semolina (1 tbsp ≈ 10 g)

1 large egg

A splash of vanilla extract

Optional: 2 tbsp honey for drizzling (2 tbsp ≈ 40 g)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. In a bowl, mix the egg with the farmer’s cheese until smooth.


2. Add flour, semolina, and vanilla (optional). Mix until a soft dough forms.


3. Shape the dough into a long roll about 1 inch thick (2–3 cm).


4. Cut into small pieces and roll each piece into a ball using your hands.


5. Place the balls in an air fryer basket or on a lined baking sheet.



🔥 Baking Options:

Air fryer: 12 minutes at 350°F (180°C)

Oven (top & bottom heat): 20 minutes at 350°F (180°C)


Bake until lightly golden.

6. Transfer to a plate and drizzle with 2 tbsp honey.

💡 Tips

After removing from the air fryer, wait 3–4 minutes before taking the balls out — they’ll release more easily and won’t be too hot.

Baking time may vary slightly depending on appliance power and ball size — keep an eye on them.

For gluten intolerance, replace flour with a gluten-free flour blend.

🍓 Optional Variations

Add sugar, xylitol, or erythritol to the dough for a sweeter version.

Instead of honey, top with:

A small amount of jam

Fruit yogurt (plain yogurt + fresh fruit)
