Every fairy tale about a princess has the same storyline: she’s beautiful, she meets a rich prince, they fall in love instantly (as if that’s realistic), they plan a wedding, and the story ends there. Basically, the fairy tale is over right after the wedding. Or more accurately, after the kids are born. Apparently, they lived happily ever after. Well, sure —if you own a castle and have a lot of money, maybe that was the case.
But is real life anything like that? Wake up in the morning, brush your teeth, splash some cold water on your face (a “beauty ritual”), wake the kids, rush through breakfast (I’ll start eating healthy and lose those extra pounds tomorrow, I promise!), and then straight into traffic jams trying to drop the kids off at preschool or school before heading to work. By the time I arrive, my stress level is already high thanks to the traffic and all those drivers who clearly should never have been given a license. Meanwhile, I’m obviously the perfect driver—so how dare they get in my way when I’m in a hurry???
And then, it’s the same thing every day. After school activities, grocery shopping, cooking, and then collapsing in front of some mind-numbing show while feeling guilty that once again, I didn’t exercise.
There’s one thing I’ve noticed while dropping kids off at preschool or their sports classes: exhausted, neglected moms. And I don’t say that with malice—it’s just the reality. We don’t have time. We keep postponing self-care until tomorrow. The kids have neatly ironed shirts, while ours are worn-out and washed way too many times.
That’s why I have one request for you: buy yourself something trendy—even just one item that makes you feel good. I guarantee you, it won’t just be about the blouse, the pants, or that stylish coat. It’s also about the smile that will light up your face.
And you know what? It’s never really about fashion—it’s about how you feel when you look in the mirror. When you feel better about yourself, everyone around you notices.
Quick Mom Style Checklist (Fall 2025 Edition) |
---|
✔️ Get rid of old, worn-out clothes that drag you down. |
✔️ Choose quality over quantity—invest in fabrics that last. |
✔️ Have at least one trendy item (red sweater, wide-leg pants, or a chic coat). |
✔️ Pick a sturdy, stylish handbag that fits your mom-life essentials. |
✔️ Add one accessory (scarf, earrings, belt) to instantly refresh your look. |
Because at the end of the day, feeling confident in your clothes is not about following every trend—it’s about having a few smart pieces that make you shine.
Fall is just around the corner, so it’s worth investing in something fashionable. Remember, it’s up to us to shape how people see moms (and especially twin moms!). Believe me, sometimes all it takes is one small accessory to feel more attractive—and then others will see it too. It’s our job to fight the stereotype of the “neglected mom”!
As a millennial, I’ve always tried not to look like one, yet somehow always end up looking exactly like one. Does that even make sense? I’ve always tried to blend current trends with my own style, and that’s how it will be this season too—even if it means ditching ankle socks or those skinny jeans.
Lately, I’ve noticed a new trend—the comeback of red. Red, burgundy, paired with something brown (like a coat or shoes) and loose wide-leg pants. Strangely enough, I look way better in these pants than in skinnies that squeeze my little sausages… I mean, legs.

Must-haves for the wardrobe:
-

-
-
New shoes (without scuffed heels, tired from chasing bikes through puddles—NEW ones!!!)
Remember to regularly toss out clothes that make you look like a homeless person. I struggle with this myself. Sometimes I can’t let go of a blouse I’ve had for ten years because it used to look amazing! Ten years ago. Now I look like the ugly duckling before the transformation. A very unfashionable ugly duckling.
And one more thing: this is not about fast fashion! Don’t buy a sweater made of polyester—it won’t look good after two washes. In that case, your 10-year-old blouse would win. A cheap handbag will always look cheap. And if it has to hold everything a mom needs, it won’t last more than a month. A broken strap while running through the city? That’s the last thing you want!
And now I’m curious: what makes you feel your best? What do you do to avoid looking like a forever tired, neglected mom?
